“2011 was a groundbreaking year for us, marked by three-fold revenue growth and tremendous traction in the market.," said David Canellos, CEO of PerspecSys, the creator of cloud data control solutions for the enterprise, as the company announced the expansion of its operations by opening its first U.S. office in the Washington, D.C. Metro area and naming industry executives Gerry Grealish, John Emerson, David Stott and Eric Hay to key positions within the company.

“This is an extremely exciting time in the evolution of our industry and for PerspecSys in particular, as the demand is exploding for cloud data control and our solutions,”  Canellos continued. "Blue-chip companies are all turning to us for the same thing: a trusted, proven way to protect their data that enables them to take full advantage of the cloud,” he added.

These changes, Canellos explained, will help PerspecSys take advantage of the strong demand the company is experiencing for its solutions across multiple markets including Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail and the Public Sector.

"Coupled with recent investments by Intel Capital, GrowthWorks and MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund, the expansion will also help PerspecSys fuel continued growth and best meet the needs of its expanding domestic and international customer base with its innovative cloud data control and security solutions," said Canellos.

  • John Emerson, most recently with Symplified Inc. and AmberPoint (now Oracle), has joined as Vice President, Sales. At PerspecSys, Emerson will leverage his in-depth sales and multinational experience to lead the company’s sales functions globally, manage channel activity and support the development of the company’s product / service line to drive continued revenue growth and expansion.
  • David Stott, formerly with Covarity, Angoss and ADP, has joined as Senior Director, Product Management, where he will be focused on aligning market needs and opportunities with the development of PerspecSys’s innovative products and solutions. • Eric Hay has joined as Senior Systems Engineer. A software industry veteran, Hay has most recently been specializing in computer security at companies like Netegrity, Credant Technologies and Invincea. In his role, he will manage field technical services and customer engagements from pre-sales through solution deployment.

New U.S. Office
Several of these executives will be based in PerspecSys’ new U.S. office in McLean, Virginia, one of the country’s leading technology and security innovation regions. The U.S. location will serve as a hub for PerspecSys’ product, sales and marketing functions, allowing the company to reach an even broader range of enterprise and public sector customers with its unique cloud data control gateway solutions for protecting sensitive business data. PerspecSys’ software solution enables organizations to fully leverage all the application benefits of cloud computing while maintaining total control and ownership of their sensitive data on-premise, secure behind their corporate firewall.

According to an Aberdeen Group study called "Security and Cloud: Best Practices," nearly 50 percent of the 110 enterprise IT shops surveyed said they are putting pressure on cloud service providers to implement stronger security practices. And, when the cloud provider practices don’t measure up, they are augmenting them with technology that remains under enterprise control. “Aberdeen’s research shows that selecting and implementing security solutions that augment the current capabilities of the cloud solution providers, but remain under enterprise control, spend one-third less annually on a per-application basis – driven in part by better security and in part by more consistent and efficient operations,” said Derek Brink, vice president and research fellow for IT Security, Aberdeen Group. “These findings align with the PerspecSys solution, which is designed to give enterprises an innovative new option for security by keeping their data out of the cloud and enabling them to control it within their own environment.”
