Symform Sponsors Cloud Network of Women

Cloud Storage and Backup Company Joins Prestigious Industry Advisors From IBM, F5 and Forrester in CloudNOW Non-Profit Initiative for Women Technology Executives

SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/18/12 -- Symform, a revolutionary cloud storage and backup service, today announced their sponsorship of the Cloud Network of Women (CloudNOW), the only tech-focused non-profit consortium of leading women executives in cloud computing. Margaret Dawson, vice president of marketing, and other female Symform executives join cloud computing leaders from IBM, F5 Networks and Forrester as inaugural supporters of the newly formed organization. An active participant in the cloud community, Dawson is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, including the Cloud Security Alliance, Cloud Connect, Interop and the Cloud Computing Expo, and was recently appointed to the Cloud Connect 2012 Advisory Board.

CloudNOW is a non-profit organization of the leading women in the cloud industry and serves as the voice of authority for women in technology. The organization and its members work with the industry to move the cloud agenda forward, producing and sharing content, speaking at conferences, and contributing to the overall cloud thought leadership. CloudNOW is divided into Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and is the only women in tech organization with an applied focus actively engaged in the cloud community.

With Symform's sponsorship, Dawson will be leading a new SIG, the Product Strategy Special Interest Group. This group will bring together vendors, corporate IT and developers, who have to rethink product strategy in view of cloud and related technologies. The SIG will foster best practices in product management, product strategy, cloud strategy, user experience, user interface, and other related areas. One of the first initiatives will be a survey of product managers and IT leaders involved in cloud product strategy and development to discover priorities, concerns, and top issues.

"On both a personal and professional level, I'm extremely supportive of the work CloudNOW is doing and look forward to being an active participant and contributing to the organization," said Dawson. "The technical and business minds behind Symform will make a tremendous contribution to CloudNOW in helping it fulfill its mission and further the reach and impact of women in technology."

Dawson is a 20-year veteran of the industry and a sought after speaker and advisor. She has a wealth of global marketing and product management leadership and deep experience working with startups and Fortune 500 companies including Hubspan, a provider of business integration in the cloud, and Microsoft and Amazon. Globally, Dawson spent ten years in the Greater China region, consulting with leading IT companies and government agencies, as well as serving as a foreign correspondent for BusinessWeek magazine.

"I am excited that CloudNOW has attracted a sponsor as innovative as Symform with its disruptive approach to secure cloud storage and its clear support of women in technology," said Jocelyn DeGance Graham, founder and president of CloudNOW. "I look forward to partnering with Margaret and Symform to further evangelize cloud innovation and address challenges facing companies today."
